        And there are some exciting new approaches; one of the most innovative is General Fusion's (TED Talks, Michael Laberge). We don't adequately fund research into the future because the fossil fuel monster wants us stuck in the past, so it can continue to reap obscene profits fron our energy commons while stealing the subsidies that should be bringing the future online. Congress is corrupt enough to carry its water, and we are stupid enough to let them. Our problems are insoluble when the very lawmaking body that is our only hope is our biggest obstacle.
