A top science question the candidates for president should answer is:

What are your plans for storing radioactive waste? Would you reopen Yucca mountain storage faciilty? Or leave the waste where it is?

The British nuclear agency has determined that if they drilled 5 mile hole and threw all the world's nuclear waste down that hole, that tectonic movements would cause it to be buried in the subduction zone where it could never come back up to the surface.

In 300 years people will be mining the high level waste that we throw away today. It is better to keep it monitorable and retrievable. The government is in violation of its own law to create a single national repository for high level waste. Mr. Farbstein's question is very important.
