Anonymous, I appreciate this question; it's more concrete and inclusive of multiple topics of concern. I would might suggest changing to say, especially more vulnerable communities such as "Black, Latino, high poverty and rural communities that science has already shown face bigger threats". "How will you assure that scientific data is prioritized during the development of public health and environmental law proposals and name science as a key reason for vetoing Congressional laws without scientific merit?

"How will you serve as public champion and chief advocate for science as the foundation for public policy decisions, especially when non-science based arguments are presented in opposition", or

"How much weight and resources will you assure is dedicated to the planning, outcome evaluation and reporting of all public laws impacting public health and the environment"

"In what ways will you assure the federal government itself, and state and local government contractors, can demonstrate effectiveness in communications to and with overburdened communities where science is needed in policy making processes?

Sorry, but the question is too wordy, dense, leaving room for weasel word responses. It is a values question without a metric. There is no problem statement per se except that there weren't standards and now there are. I can't tell if the concern is (1) the policies that set standards (2) how science is currently used in policy making, or (3) protection of scientists to speak freely, or (4) continuing a current Obama initiative. I will suggest some alternate options in a separate post.
